Peter Lindert Bio, Myths About Government Roundtable

Peter H. Lindert is a Distinguished Professor of Economics at the University of California – Davis and a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. His research and publications have explored the economic history of present-day policy concerns and public finance debates, particularly over education finance. His latest book is titled Growing Public: Social Spending and Economic Growth since the Eighteenth Century (2004). He most recently co-authored an article in the current issue of the Economic Journal, titled “Pre-Industrial Inequality”.
